I am Sonya Sullins, the creator of Disrupt to Discover ZaZaZu. 

As a Functional Health Coach and Speaker, I help people regain physical health, brain health, emotional health...and even financial health. 

I am probably best known as your go-to person if you want to get rid of Belly Fat, Brain Fog and Burnout.

I have dedicated my life to research and learning, sorting through the myths to discover the truth, experimenting, biohacking, and documenting. 

What I have found to be true is that the biggest "wow" moments and revelations in my life have always come only when I was finally ready to DISRUPT the status quo - my own limiting mindset - because it's only when one is willing to push through that they are they able to DISCOVER what was hidden in plain sight!

I am so grateful to have a second chance at life!

I am so grateful to help you live your best life.

I weigh nearly 70 pounds less than I did.
My blood pressure is nearly normal (without dependence on meds).
My blood sugar is amazing.
My mental focus and "bandwidth" is back.
And I am full of ZaZaZu! That zest and zeal that I was once missing. 

Besides me, you see my "baby" Sebastian, and my husband, Jonathan.

I stopped living small and scared and decided that whatever it is, is good enough!

I am no longer trying to become who I once was...because maybe this version of me is even better, even happier and even more in line with her purpose than ever!

​But first, I want to share with you how I lost my ZaZaZu...

I didn't know then what I know now...

Under great stress, not sleeping well, and just trying to get through an ugly phase in my life, I suddenly felt dizzy and sick. It was then that I found myself paralyzed on my basement floor after suffering a brain hemorrhage/stroke. I had no obvious (at the time) indicators that I was about to blow a gasket.

​Repairing my health and regaining my abilities have been a long and challenging road. Besides the common residual effects of a stroke such as mobility challenges, cognitive decline, lack of energy, lack of strength, pain, memory issues, and difficulty sleeping, I had other interesting challenges.

I was on a cocktail of drugs created by my medical team with the honorable intention of keeping me alive, but the side effects were horrible. The trauma sent me into immediate (and early) menopause. I was in pain, and I was unsteady on my feet. I was often so dizzy that laying down was preferable to even sitting up. 

Sadly,the weight was creeping on. I had relied on exercise to manage my weight before - and I could no longer do that. I used to cook my own food and stay away from processed food - and I found myself slipping into bad habits - processed food and lot's of snacks. It felt like I was always hungry. It felt like nibbling through the day settled me stomach and my stress. Pretzels, crackers and grapes became my go-to. Those seemingly innocent snacks would turn out to be my nemesis!

I felt defeated. Nothing I did worked! NOTHING! In the past, I always was able to buckle down my routine - eat less, move more - and I could trim the inches and the pounds. But not this time.

I tried every fad diet, every trendy gadget, meal plans and delivery services. Once I got down to 800 calories a day. Calorie restriction, which is basically starvation, was making me miserable - and ironically, even fatter!

I turned to my husband in tears and said, "I'd rather be fat and happy than fat and starving!" But I felt like an alien in my own skin. And there was nothing else I knew to do. So I resigned myself to my go-to fat lady signature look...over-sized tunics tops and leggings to hide my ever expanding body.


And, as it turns out, the weight gain was the least of my problems. It was a symptom of something worse. ​
  • Uncontrolled high blood pressure
    • ​Even with prescription meds!
  • Insulin Resistance (I was becoming Type 2 diabetic)
    • ​I was always suffering with cravings and I couldn't stop snacking
  • Brain Fog
    • ​I just felt fuzzy in the head and my memory was bad
    • I couldn't focus and felt distracted
  • Burnout 
    • ​I was physically exhausted and emotionally struggling
    • I felt stressed out and anxious. But even dead tired, I didn't sleep well

This is when I began my journey...
​My journey to get rid of Belly Fat, Brain Fog and Burnout.

By now, I had all but given up on trimming down.

​But, I couldn't shake the fear of what the future had in store for me if I couldn't get my brain back...if I could get my energy and enthusiasm back.

Here I was, 46 years old and I felt at least 60. Would I even make it to 60? I was terrified.
